Following the Turmeric Trail

I had a basic domestic day here yesterday. Chris was up on the roof taking advantage of the unseasonably nice weather. I spent the day in the kitchen grooving to Goa trance and the like.  I was cooking from The Turmeric Trail by Raghavan Iyer (author of the Betty Crocker’s Indian Home Cooking book). Plantain curry with sesame seed, spinach stew with pidgeon peas, and black rice (I’m avoiding white, cause it’s processed). So far, so good.
